Accident Compensation Conciliation Service
The Accident Compensation Conciliation Service is a statutory authority, established under the Victorian Accident Compensation Act 1985. It provides an independent service that uses the principles of Alternative Dispute Resolution to resolve workers compensation disputes in Victoria.
The Conciliation Service facilitates the resolution of disputes by involving all parties - workers, employers and WorkCover agents or self-insurers - in an informal, non-adversarial process to achieve an agreement that is fair. Conciliation is a key part of the Victorian workers compensation scheme and, in most disputes, is a compulsory step before proceedings can be taken in court. No fee is charged by the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service.
